(SAVANNAH, GA) The Savannah Mall said goodbye to their beloved children’s train after 20 years of service. As a farewell, the Savannah Mall invited the public to a Train Retirement Party on Sunday, June 29 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Center Court.

During the retirement party, train rides were free for all children and adults. There was also face painting and appearances of characters from “Puppet People”.

Families were also invited to participate in Savannah Mall’s Big Send-Off contest by uploading a photo of the family on the train to be entered to win several prizes, including tickets to see Thomas the Train, Billy Currington in concert, and holiday passes for rides on the new train coming to the Savannah Mall.

Arriving in November, the new train is a special edition, “Rio Grande Train” that is being manufactured in Vincenza, Italy by Zamperla, Inc. The bright blue, yellow and red choo-choo will have 28 seats and a custom built track designed for the Savannah Mall.
