(SAVANNAH, GA) Craig Burgess of A&C Gold and Diamonds is introducing three personally handcrafted design collections to his Savannah and Bluffton stores. The value luxury business features precious metals and gems such as diamonds, gold, silver, platinum, estate jewelry, heirlooms, coins, rare currency and other fine objects.
“My new Signature Design line is handcrafted from the metal composition itself to selection of the finest quality diamonds,” explained Burgess. “This collection features superior metal grades and brilliant gems, all placed in exquisite, timeless settings.”
Burgess is also launching an exclusive Design Collection, which reflects his personal style, and a Renaissance Collection, in which he crafts wearable pieces from heirloom jewelry.
“I assemble my Design Collection from gems and settings I find interesting,” Burgess explained. “In my Renaissance Collection, I repurpose estate items. For example, I may create a pendant from an old watch or turn your grandmother’s bar pin into a bracelet.”
Burgess’ debut of these three exclusive lines coincides with his 35th anniversary as the local authority on rare and beautiful objects, and the one-year anniversary of his return to the business after a medical sabbatical. Burgess co-founded A&C Jewelry and Design in 1979. But after a 26-year career, in which he handled well over $50 million in diamond transactions, he found himself in deteriorating health and was forced to retire in 2006. After being diagnosed in 2008 with immune system suppression due to heavy metal exposure, he eventually regained his health and discovered his love for the industry was still as strong as was the market’s demand for his services. In 2013, he made his second professional debut, founding A&C Gold and Diamonds.
