World Trade Center Savannah names new members to World Trade Center Savannah Board of Directors
SAVANNAH, Ga. – World Trade Center Savannah (WTCSav) announced that Dr. James Anderson, Director of International Education and Assistant to the Vice President at Armstrong Atlantic State University and Screven County Development Authority’s representative, Dwight Evans, founding Partner in the Pendleton Consulting Group, as new members of the WTCSav Board of Directors. The new members began their two-year term in January 2014.
For the past 20 years, Dr. Anderson has worked to expand Armstrong’s study abroad programs to more than 20 countries, including Brazil, China, Germany, Argentina and Kazakhstan, Dr. Anderson previously served as the head of Armstrong’s art, music and theater department, leading him to coordinate annual instrumental music exchange programs in Argentina. Dr. Anderson’s work also includes facilitating faculty and student exchange programs with universities throughout a dozen countries. In addition to his work at Armstrong, Dr. Anderson currently serves as chair for the Greater Savannah International Alliance.
Evans, who was nominated by the Screven County Development Authority, dedicated nearly 40 year’s to Southern Company, one of America’s largest electric utilities, prior to his retirement in 2008. For seven years of his career, he served as Southern’s Executive Vice President responsible for government affairs, public and media relations, advertising, investor communications, environmental affairs, regulatory affairs and procurement. He has chaired many organizations including the New Orleans Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the state Economic Council the Partnership for Economic Development, the Coast Chamber of Commerce and served on the boards of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers.
World Trade Center Savannah Chair Eric Johnson said the 2014 Board of Directors provides a regional outlook for the organization. “We welcome Dwight Evans and Dr. James Anderson to the World Trade Center Savannah Board of Directors.
