Cinnamon Bear Stores Announces Winners of ‘Red, Write and Thank You Christmas Contest

One Family Taking New York City Christmas Trip Before Deployment

(SAVANNAH, GA) Ki Ventura, a fourth grader from Waldo Pafford Elementary School has won a writing contest sponsored by Cinnamon Bear Stores for military children and their families to win a trip to New York City.

A panel of judges consisting of the Cinnamon Bears leadership team, principal and vice principal at a local school and one respected English teacher selected Ki from among more than 50 entrants to win the two-day, one-night trip to New York City, $500 spending money and tickets to The Lion King musical.

The ‘Red, Write and Thank You Christmas Contest’ was open to children ages 6 to 12 who have a family member who will be deployed during the holiday season.

The children’s hand-written essays were submitted on one of the following topics: “I’m proud of my parent, grandparent, sibling because…”; “I would like to win this NY Christmas Trip because…”; “Christmas in the USA is special to me because…”.

“All of the contest entries we received were ‘wows,’ and it was increasingly difficult to choose a winner, which is why we formed the panel,” said Michael Snaid, co-owner of the Cinnamon Bear Stores. “Ki’s essay talked about his family history in the military and how he wants to honor that history. It was very moving.”

Gaby Kenard, a second grader from Savannah, placed second and received a $100 gift certificate to the Cinnamon Bear Stores. Jackson Daniel, a fifth grader from Fort Stewart, placed third and received a $50 gift certificate.

Ki and his parents will leave for New York on Dec. 10 from the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.

(SAVANNAH, GA) The Cinnamon Bear Stores, a family-owned group of high-end gift markets serving the Southeast for more than 20 years, has donated $1,040 to the MARNE Community and Spouses’ Club of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, a 501©3 non-profit, social and welfare organization that supports the military community through social outreach, academic scholarships and welfare grants.

The donation came from proceeds raised during the Cinnamon Bear Stores grand opening celebrations for their new location in the Twelve Oaks Shopping Center, 5500 Abercorn St.

“Opening our store in this new destination location offering more upscale merchandise is exciting, but having the opportunity to partner with a local organization that helps our military and their families is truly an honor,” said co-owner Michael Snaid. “We were blessed by the turnout for our grand opening celebrations, and we are so excited to share this good fortune with the Marne group.”

The Cinnamon Bear offered an additional 15 percent discount during the grand opening to those with a valid military ID.

“This is huge for our group,” said Nina Elison, president of the Marne group. “The only way we can make a difference in this community is with the help of local businesses and our partners. Michael and Lynne have been very supportive of our mission, and we are most thankful that they chose to celebrate their grand opening by giving back to us.”

This is the first of a series of events planned by Cinnamon Bear to support the Marne Community and Spouses’ Club. The retailer also plans to launch a holiday writing contest for families of Marne.

During the past two decades, The Cinnamon Bear Stores have become a frequent stop for families vacationing along the Georgia, South Carolina and northern Florida coasts with locations at Harbour Town on Hilton Head, City Market and River Street in Savannah and at Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island.

Along with other Cinnamon Bear stores, the new location offers award-winning gourmet products, gifts, toys and books. The new store also offers luxury brands including Brighton, Vera Bradley, Life is Good, Spartina, Lampe Berger Paris, Baggallini and Beatriz Ball.

The Cinnamon Bear Stores Cut Ribbon on Fifth Lowcountry Location

The Cinnamon Bear Stores Cut Ribbon on Fifth Lowcountry Location

Proudly Partnering with the Marne Community and Spouses’ Club of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield to Receive a Portion of All Sales During the Month of June

(SAVANNAH, GA) The Cinnamon Bear Stores, a family-owned group of high-end gift markets serving the Southeast for more than 20 years, opened its fifth location at Twelve Oaks Shopping Center, 5500 Abercorn St. The celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, food and refreshments and multiple discounts and prizes.

Michael Snaid, co-owner of the stores, said, “Expanding to serve visitors in another area of Savannah with this new destination location offering more upscale merchandise is very different for our company. During our soft opening, we experienced a great response from the community, and we are excited to see what the future holds for this location now that we are officially open.”

To celebrate the grand opening, Cinnamon Bear’s owners are donating a percentage of total sales for the entire month of June to the Marne Community and Spouses’ Club of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, a 501c3 non-profit, social and welfare organization that supports the military community through social outreach, academic scholarships and welfare grants.

The Cinnamon Bear also offered a 15 percent discount during the grand opening day to those with a valid military ID.

“This grand opening gave us an opportunity to support and recognize not only the sacrifices of our service members but of their families as well,” said Snaid. “We feel blessed and proud to be Americans, and every day, we meet so many wonderful people from the U.S. and abroad. It’s important to our family that through our company we can help a charity that links us to real people making real sacrifices.”

All customers had an opportunity to pop a balloon to receive a surprise discount; prizes ranged from 10 percent to 100 percent off the gift purchase. The grand opening celebration also featured a balloon artist and “Cinnamon” the Bear. A grand-prize raffle was drawn at the end of the day; guests didn’t need to be present to win.

Along with the Cinnamon Bear current stores, the newest location offers award-winning gourmet products, gifts, toys and books. The new store offers brands including Vera Bradley, Life is Good, Spartina, Lampe Berger Paris, Baggallini and Beatriz Ball.

“From the outside, our new store doesn’t look very big, but once inside, you’ll find 4,320 square feet of a charming store with a variety of elegant products,” said Snaid. “In response to consumer demands, our new location offers unique kitchen supplies as well. We pride ourselves on meeting the expectations of everyone who walks in the door at any of our locations.”
