Cinnamon Bear Stores Announces Winners of ‘Red, Write and Thank You Christmas Contest

Cinnamon Bear Stores Announces Winners of ‘Red, Write and Thank You Christmas Contest

One Family Taking New York City Christmas Trip Before Deployment

(SAVANNAH, GA) Ki Ventura, a fourth grader from Waldo Pafford Elementary School has won a writing contest sponsored by Cinnamon Bear Stores for military children and their families to win a trip to New York City.

A panel of judges consisting of the Cinnamon Bears leadership team, principal and vice principal at a local school and one respected English teacher selected Ki from among more than 50 entrants to win the two-day, one-night trip to New York City, $500 spending money and tickets to The Lion King musical.

The ‘Red, Write and Thank You Christmas Contest’ was open to children ages 6 to 12 who have a family member who will be deployed during the holiday season.

The children’s hand-written essays were submitted on one of the following topics: “I’m proud of my parent, grandparent, sibling because…”; “I would like to win this NY Christmas Trip because…”; “Christmas in the USA is special to me because…”.

“All of the contest entries we received were ‘wows,’ and it was increasingly difficult to choose a winner, which is why we formed the panel,” said Michael Snaid, co-owner of the Cinnamon Bear Stores. “Ki’s essay talked about his family history in the military and how he wants to honor that history. It was very moving.”

Gaby Kenard, a second grader from Savannah, placed second and received a $100 gift certificate to the Cinnamon Bear Stores. Jackson Daniel, a fifth grader from Fort Stewart, placed third and received a $50 gift certificate.

Ki and his parents will leave for New York on Dec. 10 from the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.

The Cinnamon Bear Stores Announces Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of Fifth Southeast Location at Twelve Oaks Shopping Center

Proudly Partnering with the Marne Community and Spouses’ Club of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield to Receive a Portion of All Sales During the Month of June

(SAVANNAH, GA) The Cinnamon Bear Stores, a family-owned group of high-end gift markets serving the Southeast for more than 20 years, will open its fifth location on Tuesday, June 13, at Twelve Oaks Shopping Center, 5500 Abercorn St. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m.; food and refreshments will be available for guests.

During the past two decades, The Cinnamon Bear Stores has become a frequent stop for families vacationing along the Georgia, South Carolina and northern Florida coasts with locations at Harbour Town on Hilton Head, City Market and River Street in Savannah and at Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island.

Michael Snaid, co-owner of the stores, said, “Expanding to serve visitors in another area of Savannah with this new destination location offering more upscale merchandise is very different for our company. During our soft opening, we’ve experienced a great response from the community, and we are excited to see what the future will hold for this location.”

To celebrate the grand opening, Cinnamon Bear’s owners will donate a percentage of total sales for the entire month of June to the Marne Community and Spouses’ Club of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, a 501c3 non-profit, social and welfare organization that supports the military community through social outreach, academic scholarships and welfare grants.

The Cinnamon Bear will also offer a 15 percent discount during the grand opening day to those with a valid military ID.

“This grand opening gives us an opportunity to support and recognize not only the sacrifices of our service members but of their families as well,” said Snaid. “We feel blessed and proud to be Americans, and every day, we meet so many wonderful people from the U.S. and abroad. It’s important to our family that through our company we can help a charity that links us to real people making real sacrifices.”

All customers will have an opportunity to pop a balloon to receive a surprise discount; prizes range from 10 percent to 100 percent off the gift purchase. The grand opening celebration will also feature a balloon artist, caricature artist and “Cinnamon” the Bear. A grand-prize raffle will be drawn at the end of the day; guests do not need to be present to win.

Along with the Cinnamon Bear current stores, the newest location will offer award-winning gourmet products, gifts, toys and books. The new store will offer brands including Vera Bradley, Life is Good, Spartina, Lampe Berger Paris, Baggallini and Beatriz Ball.

We pride ourselves on meeting the expectations of everyone who walks in the door at any of our locations.”

It is vitally important that today’s youth get involved in the outdoors so they can become the stewards and conservationists of tomorrow to insure the maintenance and well-being of our natural resources. Bass Pro Shops is proud to take part in inspiring the next generation of conservationists by providing easy, fun, accessible ways for families to discover and enjoy the outdoors.

Celebrating Sportsmen, America’s Conservation Heroes

The Fall Hunting Classic celebrates the role hunters play in ongoing wildlife conservation efforts. Hunters are the largest contributors to wildlife conservation through the hunting licenses, tags and stamps they buy. Another important source of funding for state wildlife conservation efforts are the excise taxes sportsmen and women pay on firearms, ammunition and archery equipment through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration program (WSFR).

In 2015, WSFR provided $1.1 billion through the sale of hunting and fishing equipment to support habitat conservation and outdoor recreation. Since the program’s inception 78 years ago more than $18 billion have been distributed to states for this great work. Those dollars, combined with hunting license fees, provide more than 75 percent of the funding for most state fish and wildlife agencies. Sportsmen and women contribute nearly $8 million to conservation every day through license fees, stamps, permits, excise taxes, and contributions to conservation groups.

NASCAR Sweepstakes

In addition to free seminars and great deals on hunting gear, customers can also enter a sweepstakes to win a trip for four to the 2017 Bass Pro Shops NRA America’s Night Race in Bristol, Tennessee. Original Skin Tattoos Wins Best of Show at Inaugural Savannah Tattoo Festival

Best of Show%2C Savannah Tattoo Festival%2C goes to Original Skin at the Savannah Mall

(SAVANNAH, GA) Original Skin Tattoos and Piercings, located on the upper level of the Savannah Mall, is pleased to announce it received the “Best in Show” award at the first annual Savannah Tattoo Festival, which attracted 200 artists plus exhibitors and competitors from more than 50 tattoo shops from the U.S. and abroad.

Bill Cassat, resident artist, created the winning project, a three-dimensional depiction of the face and head of a woman with a bearskin headdress. The full-color tattoo was applied to a male client’s left thigh, just above the knee. It took Cassat nearly eight hours to complete the project on-site at the festival.

“This subject matter is very popular right now, but Billy has the ability to depict it in an unmatched way with 3D realism,” said Chap Chaplin, owner of Original Skin. “There are only a few artists out there working in this style, and with this award, Billy has proven he is one of the best.”

Cassat’s design won both the “Best Tattoo of the Day” on Saturday and overall “Best in Show” award. He is a resident artist at Original Skin, which is one of Savannah’s newest tattoo shops, yet one with a well-seasoned staff who have a combined 22 years of experience amongst the three lead artists. The store opened at Savannah Mall in August 2014. Although it seemed like an odd location for a tattoo business, the selection turned out to be a good move for both Chaplin and his clients, and is a favorite with Mall patrons.

“Tattoo shops typically don’t have much business over the winter and I wanted to put my store where people usually go to shop over the holidays,” Chaplin explained. “The Savannah Mall was a good choice for that and to showcase the talents of our artists. The front of our shop looks more like a downtown art gallery that a typical tattoo parlor. People who might never have considered walking into one frequently drop by. They browse and shop, and sometimes do even more.”

Chaplin recalled a Richmond Hill mom who accompanied her daughter to the store and left with “a cute little design” on her wrist. Instead of being an oddity, he says people now often think of tattoos as mainstream. He has also noticed a trend with those in the 40-and-up age range getting them. But he realizes one of the most appealing aspects for clients is that his custom shop helps them feel comfortable in their decision to get a tattoo because they can be part of the creative process.

The Inaugural Savannah Tattoo Festival was held at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center. The highly anticipated three-day event featured more than 200 artists from across the country and celebrated all aspects of the tattooing industry. It also incorporated music, local fine artists, tattooing on-site, circus sideshows, contests and other entertainment. A annual event is already in the planning stages for 2017. For more information, visit http://savannahtattoofest.com/

With a combined experience of 36 years, the artists of Original Skin Tattoos and Piercings offer a variety of tattoo styles, specializing in 3D realism, portraits and cover-ups. They also offer body piercings. At the front of the shop, a gallery showcases local artists and features displays of paintings along with handcrafted metal and leather jewelry, plus accessories, photography and skin care products.
