Pooler Parkway Location is Enmarket’s Largest Newly Built Store

(POOLER, GA) Enmarket, a Savannah-based chain of convenience stores, built a new 6,366-square-foot store on Pooler Parkway across the street from the soon-to-open St. Joseph’s/CandlerPooler Campus.

The store, which offers 20 fueling stations and an electronic vehicle charging station, is Enmarket’s third in Pooler but its first on Pooler Parkway. The two others are on Highway 80.

The new store features the chain’s first drive-through window, serving fresh food and beverages from Enmarket’s proprietary restaurant, The Eatery. It also features touchless restrooms, exposed ceilings, spacious parking and outdoor seating.

Some features are invisible to customers but will contribute to better service, such things as a redesigned and more efficient kitchen and an improved vendor receiving area. Progressive Builderswas the general contractor for the project.

“This is the largest Enmarketwe’ve built from the ground up,” said Brett Giesick, president of Enmarket. “We’re excited to announce this new location, and believe it serves as a fine example of our dedication to providing customers with quality service and food.”

The new store is part of an Enmarketexpansion plan that includes the rebuild of the existing store on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in downtown Savannah, a new headquarters complex that will include the rebuild of the Enmarketon U.S. 17 at Chatham Parkway and a future store in Port Wentworth.

Enmarketcurrently operates 124 convenience stores and 14 quick-serve restaurants with more than 1,200 employees in Georgia and North and South Carolina.

Animal Planetcrews were in the area in December to film puppies between 3- and 6-months old at the dealership and PAL’s facilities. Footage from the shoot was incorporated into vignettes aired as commercial messages for Subaru during Puppy Bowl XV. Subaru of America picked Peacock Subarufor the spots because of its involvement with local animal welfare organizations.

The Palmetto Animal Leaguebrought adoptable dogs to Sunday’s party. Supported solely by individual donors and “Partners in Rescue” such as Peacock Subaru, PAL’s no-kill shelter serves as a temporary residence for about 200 dogs and cats.

The puppy bowl began when Animal Planet, a cable network focused on animal-themed shows, confronted the question of what to program against the Super Bowl with a mock football game featuring puppies playing on a gridiron-marked rug. The idea caught on and now attracts millions of viewers. Since its inception, the program has starred adoptable puppy “players” and has since added kitten “cheerleaders” and other pets looking for a hom.

Enmarket among the First Convenience Stores to Launch Skip Frictionless Checkout

Enmarket Mobile Payments

Customers Scan Items they want on the Enmarket App and Pay via Their Phone, Saving Time

(SAVANNAH, GA) Enmarketconvenience stores are making an enhancement to their mobile app that will allow customers to buy items through their phones and save a trip to the register.

Enmarket, one of the first convenience store chains in the U.S. to use the new mobile payment technology, has partnered with Skip, a mobile self-checkout service. The technology is designed to reduce the speed of checkout from an average of 60 seconds to an instant checkout action controlled by the customer.

It also is configured to provide easy access to promotional deals and in-store items at the pump or prior to arrival.

Skip Frictionless Checkouthelps customers bypass the checkout line and helps us enhance their experience by focusing more on merchandising and customer service,” said Brett Giesick, president of Savannah-based Enmarket, which operates 123 stores in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. “It allows us to give back the most priceless of resources to its customers- their time.”

Enmarketsales associates are notified when Skipusers arrive and can monitor their purchases. The new technology will allow employees to spend more time on guest satisfaction, food service and maintaining their stores.

“This technology helps us achieve our mission of providing a best-in-class convenience store experience by offering an instant checkout action controlled by our customers,” continued Giesick. “Enmarketwill continue to explore innovative ways to make it easier for customers to patronize our stores.”

Skipis a hybrid of mobile payments and AmazonGo’s “just walk out” experiences. When customers finish shopping, they don’t have to wait in a line. They can finalize payment in the app and be on their way.

“Getting our product into stores like Enmarketis a perfect fit” said Chase Thomason, Skipfounder and CEO. “There are some fantastic similarities in our respective missions to the end customer, and we definitely share the appreciation of valuing the consumers’ time in the fast-paced world that we live in.”
