(SAVANNAH, GA) The Midtown Pickers is pleased to announce the group will join bar.food and coffee.deli in hosting a Summer Nights party on June 11 to benefit Hospice Savannah Inc., in celebration of the organization’s 37th birthday. The event will take place at both of the Habersham Village restaurants from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. A silent auction will also be held, with proceeds to benefit Hospice, in memory of Susan (Deason) Sheard and Ace Harris.
“We’re just a grassroots group of local musicians who like to get together on Wednesday nights at coffee.deli for an informal jam session,” said Tommy Holland, Midtown Pickers founder. “Many of us have been friends since forever, and we all feel like family. Both Susan and Ace were very special members of our musical family, and we lost both of them recently. We thought this would be a nice way to remember them and give back to the organization that helped them pass with dignity and in peace. We hope everyone will come out and recognize the important work of Hospice Savannah.”
Hospice Savannah, which is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, is also accepting “gift-in-kind” donations to support the silent auction. This and other Summer Nights events are a major fundraising campaign of he organization, made possible by community partners, businesses and families served.
“We are planning a tremendous evening of great music, food and fun,” added Holland. “The folks at coffee.deli and bar.food have been very generous in opening their doors to the Midtown Pickers every Wednesday night for the past three years and they were immediately on board when we approached them about doing this fundraiser. I hope everyone who has supported our music will turn out on June 11th to help us thank them as well as to support Hospice. It will be the best time you ever had for a worthy cause.”
The Summer Nights party is planned for Saturday, June 11, 2016, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. at bar.food and coffee.deli in the Habersham Village shopping center, 4517 Habersham St, Savannah, GA 31405.
