Holly Days at St. John’s Church St. John’s Episcopal Churchwomen Will Host Holly Days Bazaar November 11 and 12

Savannah, Georgia, November 2, 2015:  The St. John’s Episcopal Church Women invite you to the 2015 Holly Days Bazaar on Wednesday and Thursday, November 11 and 12.   The Holly Days Bazaar is one of the oldest in the city, and features homemade jams, jellies and other canned goods are featured, as well as handmade jewelry, clothing and gifts.  The festivities begin on Wednesday at 10:00 with shopping for crafts and garden specialties until 2:00 PM.  Lunch is served Wednesday and Thursday in the Green-Meldrim House from 11 AM until 2 PM, with a menu that includes homemade pimento cheese, shrimp salad and chicken salad sandwiches, vegetable soup and chili, along with decadent desserts.  A silent auction featuring exciting trips, gifts, wines, and parties is open for bidding each day in the Green-Meldrim house from 11 until 2.    On Thursday, the White Elephant Sale and Treasure Room will open in the Christian education building, Cranmer Hall, located at the corner of Charlton and Whitaker Streets.  Raffle tickets are sold both days for an elegant 7-course Candlelight Dinner in the Green-Meldrim House.  The drawing for this fabulous prize is held at 2 PM on Thursday.

The Holly Days Bazaar provides funding for the Women of St. John’s to support more than 40 local, national and international organizations.  Locally, the ECW supports numerous local charities, such as the “Back Pack Buddies” program which provides back packs of food to children at risk of hunger while they are away from school, over the weekends and at holidays.
