Healthy Savannah and Enmarket Present $4000 Donation to Two Local Nonprofit Organizations at Final Encourage Health Education Lecture

(SAVANNAH, GA) The final enmarket Encourage Health Education program included a $2,000 check presentation to the Forsyth Farmer’s Market, a not-for-profit organization that affirms it “envisions a sustainable, local food system that promotes the health of individuals, farmers and the community.”

Additionally, as part of the series, each chosen nonprofit organization was eligible to win a grand prize. Each group was given a scannable bar code that could be used throughout the year with the enmarket mobile app to rack up points from any 64 Enmark stores.

During the lecture, enmarket announced that Childhood Obesity Prevention and Education (COPE) was the organization that received the most votes and presented Sandy Baker, Founding Executive Director, a check for $2,000. The mission of COPE is to combat childhood obesity with a threefold approach – nutrition education, fitness and behavioral health.

“COPE was honored to be chosen as one of the four featured nonprofits in the series,” said Baker. “We’ve enjoyed the scan contest, also taking the opportunity to showcase Enmark’s healthy snacks to our COPE families. I even noticed they have Quest protein bars and some other natural low sugar and less processed snack items.”

The lecture, the fourth and final in this year’s education series, featured Kelley J. Boyd, E-RYT500, founder and teacher at Savannah Yoga Center. She shared “10 Yoga Tips: Hectic to Harmonious in 5 Minutes or Less.”

“This annual series really is a win-win for all parties involved,” said enmarket Director of Marketing Matt Clements. “I would like to especially thank the businesses who partnered with enmarket to make this donation and presentation possible.”
