“Pregnancy is a transitional time when many physical and emotional changes take place,” Carroll said. “Prenatal yoga helps to prepare moms for a more mindful approach to the challenges of pregnancy, labor and delivery, bringing focus and connection between mother and baby.”
This two-hour workshop is held quarterly and designed for mamas-to-be in their second and third trimesters. It is a nurturing class that will support and empower women and help them bond with their babies. The class utilizes gentle hatha yoga postures, mudras, breathing practices, visualization and deep relaxation, all designed to assist women on this journey into motherhood.
“Postures and breathing practices are done to strengthen and relax the rapidly changing body during pregnancy,” Carroll added. “Increased flexibility, strengthening of the pelvis and uterine muscles and an increased ability to relax will be beneficial during the roller coaster experience of pregnancy and childbirth.”
