(SAVANNAH, GA) With eight days to go, the Savannah VOICE Festival organizers are advising Savannah residents and visitors to keep their eyes and ears open for Festival outreach artists who will be appearing all over the city to keep the city singing for the first half of August.
An expanded community outreach program is a vital part of this non-profit organization’s mission and the VOICE Festival is committed to and in particular to training and inspiring young people. In 2014 the organization’s community outreach programs are supported by Gulfstream, the Savannah Friends of Music and Schneider Logistics and have been expanded to include the Bethesda Academy, Chatham County Schools, Memorial Hospital and assisted living facilities.

Flash mobs of Festival artists will be appearing around town and includes a ’Singers in Service’ program at churches and temples in Savannah, appearances at community partners’ stores and restaurants downtown and some intriguing characters singing on popular tours….. Savannah VOICE Festival is a new 501 (c) 3 tax exempt non-profit arts organization in the state of Georgia. The Festival brings classical vocal excellence to the Savannah area through a two-week celebration of concerts, events and educational presentations during the month of August and throughout the year. Focusing on arts awareness and audience development in the performing arts, it offers music from opera, musical theatre and popular song.
VOICExperience Foundation is an educational non-profit partner organization to the Festival, helping young artists pursue their careers in the performing arts. It provides crucial outreaches to the communities it serves and perpetuates excellence in the art of singing with its educational programs.
Both organizations were founded by opera legend Sherrill Milnes and soprano Maria Zouves. They work together to serve the community by providing the highest level of education and quality performances by talented artists for all to enjoy. Donations to both organizations are tax-deductible.
